TrainOrama Single Ended 930 Class Locomotive

15.03.2007

Single Ended 930 due May 2007, please pre-order to secure a model.

The Single Ended 930 Class

For those not in the know, the "Single Ended 930 Class"
is the earlier version 930 having a blanc No.2 end, other than
a rear access door. This version had no proper cab facilities
to enable reverse running with the crew occupying and driving
from the No.2 end. Some of these versions of the 930 class
were still around in the early 1970s, with one spending most
of its time rumbling around the State of Victoria.
As well as double heading on freight trains between Augusta
Pirie, Adelaide and Melbourne, the single ended 930s
regularly handled the "Overland Express" between Adelaide
and Melbourne. A train of equal fame to the Southern Aurora.

The Trainorama "Single Ended 930 Class" diesel electric
locomotive in HO scale is currently in production, with only
a small run of this special model being commissioned.
The available colour schemes and running numbers will be
confirmed in due course, with delivery anticipated around April,
2007. The price is expected to around AUD$255. Orders are
not being taken just at this particular time. Our February news
will contain more information. But, be assured, this will be a top
quality model and very likely a top collectible.
